Class Information, Schedule & Pricing
Sun and Moon Beach Yoga offers a serene and beautiful environment for your yoga practice. You can connect with Mother Nature as the sun rises or sets while the waves crash against the shore. The instructors are here to guide the students through physical postures (asanas), and breathing techniques (pranayama).
Our classes are primarily focused on a Vinyasa Flow. We provide a non-competitive atmosphere for students of all levels to enjoy outdoor yoga. As we grow as a business, so too will the classes that we offer.
Classes will start Friday, May 22nd and run through Monday, September 7th.
Students will meet at our beach hut just North of Castaways and the boathouse and south of the bridge. We ask that everyone show up 10 minutes early to sign in so we can start in a timely manner.
Or we provide organic mats to rent for $2.
Bottles of water will be sold for $1 during the hours in which Castaway's and other beverage providers are not in operation.
****Since classes are held outdoors they are subject to weather. Classes will be canceled if the temperature is below 60º or above 95º degrees, it is raining or there is extreme wind. If class is canceled it will be posted on our home page one hour prior to class.****
****We ask that students do not bring children to class unless they are old enough to entertain themselves, or you have someone to mind them away from class. Students take the time travel here for the serenity offered at the beach and we do not want that to be compromised. Thank you for your understanding.****
Here's a picture of the beach hut where students check in before class. Students are welcome to leave purses/backpacks/cell phones here while class is in session.
*****PARKING : There is a PAY lot on the beach that is usually closed for sunrise classes and full for evening classes. There is free parking 2 blocks west on Stockton. It is the street that Lincoln Park Zoo is on and usually full of cars as well. And there is meter parking on Clark which is about a 10 minute walk from the beach.*****

Our Thoughts and Concerns Regarding the Schedule
We understand that our Sunrise Class is early. But we want to allow a time where someone with a typical work schedule can get in a pre-work session. Besides, there's no better way to start your day than seeing the sun come up over the lake. Once you give it a go, you'll be hooked!
Our Late Morning Classes are a good way to sweat it out and avoid the sometimes dangerous temperatures in mid-afternoon. We avoid classes between 12-4pm because practicing yoga in uncontrolled extreme heat can put our students health in jeopardy.
Evening Classes were designed to start late enough for students to get home/change and get to the beach, and still end early enough to allow time to go out and enjoy your evening after.
Weekend Classes were designed with the beach population in mind. They start late enough to allow a bit of weekend sleep and end early enough to avoid the swarming beach crowd. Classes will be canceled during special events like The Air & Water Show.
